So it’s been a hot minute since I’ve updated you all. Things have been going pretty well here in Cincy. I’ve actually been exploring what this fine city has to offer. Don’t underestimate this place.
Well well well, where to begin? I happened to visit the largest children’s museum IN THE WORLD. Wild huh? Seriously…it’s gigantic. It happens to feature Chihuly’s largest permanent glass installation. No big deal.

I have been volunteering over at Planned Parenthood here in town. Since this area is slightly more conservative AND more Catholic than what I am used to….I am extra careful with all that business. ANYWAYZ, so I have been doing phone banking to try and get young women to go out and vote. During one such phone bank, my organizer asked me, “Caely, do you know Kathleen Turner?”. Of COURSE I know my celebrity doppleganger. Oh OH OH MY GOD. She is alllll about Planned Parenthood. She is currently in a play that is running here in Cincinnati. Getting a tour of the city one day she passes our clinic. She gets pissed. So in case you are unaware, some people aren’t fans of what we do. That is fine. But then there are some people who hang up signs with pictures of dead babies that line the sidewalk. And some people do this for 35+ years. And some people get the funding from the Catholic Church to continue with this fear mongering.

The city just recently made acts similar to this illegal. And some police do not enforce this new law. Kathleen decided to help us out a bit. So get this…Kathleen Turner (my celebrity look-a-like), helps to plan a rally….at MY clinic. My life is weird. So we do our bit with the signs and chants and the whole bit. I eventually meet Kathleen and let fill her in on our look-a-like status. What a strange day. Tell me if you see it.

In other news, my non-profit was recently featured on Extreme Makeover Home Edition. YEAH BRAH, 2-hour season premiere. Our Baltimore affiliate finally received a Girls home! It is off the chain. Katy Perry and Shaq were all over that. Imma link you to the episode right now so you can catch a glimpse into this great organization. GET YA TISSUES HANDY

Since the show, the other city affiliates have had a decent amount of press…including my very house here in Cincinnati. Here you go:

Just the other night all of our scholars were given free tickets to the Cincinnati Red’s game. One of my girls was asked to help in throwing out the first pitch of the game! How excitingggggggggggg! No big deal, but this was the game that made the Red’s the 2010 Central Division Champs! I love pretending I care about sports. I am all about band wagons.

Just to complain for a bit…I feel like I am sick ALL THE TIME. Can I give you a list of everything I have come down with since April 2010? CUZ I’M GONNA:
Shingles
Strep Throat (x2)
Poison Ivy
Mono
Tonsillitis (current state)
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF. Of those listed, 4 out of 5 were first time ever. That’s right, in less than 7 months my body has been raging. If anyone has any quick solutions send them my way. Make sure it’s legal. I just want my mama to rub my head. Just a note, it is my mama’s birthday. Send her some wishes.
Okay, I am outie. Til next time.
